The Bichot family can trace its Burgundy roots back to 1350, the crest of the family is a doe (biche in French), in the 19th century, the family started working in vines and wine. In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded a wine trading company in his name, but it’s only at the end of the 19th century that, under the leadership of his grand-son Albert Bichot, the company soared and moved to its current premises in Beaune in 1912.

At the helm since 1996, Albéric Bichot is the 6th generation running this family business. While respecting the family traditions, he is looking forward to the future and has switched to organic grape growing, he fully controls the upstream supply chain, and has a grower-seller approach.

In the past 10 years, Albert Bichot has been awarded the Winemaker of the Year 3 times for its red and white wines by the International Wine Challenge.

Since 1876, Maison Albert Bichot has been buying barrels (pieces) of wine at the Hospices de Beaune auction. For the past 20 years, Albert Bichot has been the #1 buyer at this charity auction where only the best wines are sold. Albert Bichot not only appreciates the quality of the products available, but also shares the generous and helpful ethos of the auction.

Their ambition is to provide unique emotions and feelings by bringing you the essence of Burgundy wines.

For Albert Bichot, each vintage is a challenge, each wine has its unique story and land, and is a treasure in its own right. It is the respect of nature and the constant care and rigour that show the understanding of the balance that makes each wine elegant and true.

All wines that bear the name of Albert Bichot, may they come from grapes grown in-house or purchased from other growers, promise great quality and rightfulness, while retaining their own personality.
